Estate Planning:
As a service to AAO members and their financial, tax and legal advisors, the AAO Foundation offers on a complimentary basis and at no obligation a number of brochures and pamphlets concerned with estate planning.
The Foundation also sponsors at each AAO Annual Session an estate planning seminar, with topics ranging from the basic (e.g., an introduction to estate planning) to such complicated issues as how to create a charitable remainder trust through an over-funded pension plan. Admission is free to those registered for the meeting, and seating is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Planned Giving:
Many AAO members who have retired from the active practice of orthodontics (or who are approaching or contemplating retirement) have decided to support the continued advancement of the specialty by means of making a planned gift, A PLAN FOR THE FUTURE, to the AAO Foundation and have already included the AAOF in their estate plans in a fashion most advantageous to themselves and their families.
The Foundation has produced a video on this subject which is available to AAO members, and their advisors, at no charge nor any obligation. The AAOF does request, however, that this video be returned within 45 days to keep administrative costs as low as possible. Individuals who have included the AAOF in their estate plans are considered members of the Foundation's Keystone Society.
