What is the AAO Foundation Disaster Relief Fund?
The AAO and AAO Foundation stand ready to assist our fellow Orthodontists and Members impacted by the tragic wildfires in Southern California. As always, and for any disaster, our Disaster Relief efforts can help you if your practice has been affected.
Any AAO member who is the victim of a natural disaster may apply to the AAO Disaster Relief Fund for a grant (up to $5,000) to assist in restoring, repairing, or reconstructing a practice facility owned by the applicant, or the equipment and supplies therein.
WHY contribute to this fund?
Damages from a natural disaster can create a serious financial hardship and sometimes other sources of adequate funding are not available. The AAO Foundation Disaster Relief fund is about AAO members supporting other AAO members who are faced with a natural disaster. DONATE TODAY!
Eligibility for Assistance
An applicant must establish that he/she suffered nonreimbursed damages to his/her practice facility from a disaster. Further, the applicant must show that these damages have caused a serious financial hardship and that other sources of adequate funding are not available. Replacement of lost income from practice interruption is not an eligible reason for assistance.
Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis, and available funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
